Guidelines for Behaviour on the firespace

  1. General things to consider:
    • Environment:
      – Use shake-off cans before Play
      – No oil dropping on unprotected soil 
    • Clear head:
      – No influence of alcohol or other drugs
    • Mutual consideration:
      – Take care of yourself and of others
  2. Clothing and personal protection:
    • Clothing:
      – Wear clothes that are appropriate for fire play.
      – Avoid loose fitting Clothes
      – Avoid Fringes and other thin elements
      – Don’t wear unwashed Clothes, those can contain infalammable chemicals.
    • Jewellery
      – Be aware to only wear jewellery, earrings, necklesses that do not burn or melt.
      – Avoid loose accessories
    • Hair protection:
      – Long, loose hair burns easily
      – Hair can be covered or wetened
    • Skin protection:
      – Using creams and wash regularly
    • Personal safety:
      – Using special people-extinguish blankets in white colour 
  3. Behaviour on the firespace:
    • Using of tools:
      – Use only burning tools on the fireplace, to avoid accidents due to non recognizing.
    • Condition of tools:
      – Check your tool. Kevlar/Aramid should be tight and scrambles should be immovably.
    • No Sparkeling:
      – Avoid tools that create sparkle.
    • No Spitting and no Kohlepoi:
      – Protect the space from fires by avoiding certain Particles.
  4. Dipping-Zone and extinguish zone:
    • Danger through gases:
      – Be aware of lung inflammation and silikosis.
    • Behaviour:
      – Clean operation, pay attention to environmental protection, leave the dipping and extinguish areas as quick as possible.
  5. Play Area:
    • Protection of nature:
      – Avoid playing at unprotected natural areas.
    • Safety Distance:
      – Keep at least 3 m distance to the audience
      – Keep distance to other players, according to the played tool
  6. Emergency measures:
    • How to deal with a person that caught fire:
      – Correct usage of people-extinguish blankets, avoiding the chimney effect.
      – Only use water and people-extinguish blankets to extinguish people.
      – Do not use tool extinguish blankets to extinguish people
    • Dealing with fire:
      – Attention when dealing with hot metal equipment
